Enrollment on Arrival
Updated October 25, 2026. General information from the official program pages at ttp.cbp.dhs.gov and cbp.gov; rules change, so confirm there.
Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) is a CBP program that lets conditionally approved Global Entry applicants complete the interview when they arrive in the United States on an international flight. There is no appointment: you see an officer as part of the normal arrival process at a participating airport.
Who can use it
- You have applied for Global Entry and your status in the Trusted Traveler Programs account is conditionally approved.
- You are arriving in the United States from abroad at an airport that offers Enrollment on Arrival. CBP keeps the list of participating airports on cbp.gov.
- You have the documents the interview requires with you: valid passport, permanent resident card if applicable, and proof of your current address. See what to bring.
How it works at the airport
- After you land, follow the signs for Enrollment on Arrival in the passport control area, or tell an officer you are conditionally approved and would like to enroll on arrival.
- You are directed to a designated lane or office where an officer completes the interview, takes your photo and fingerprints, and processes your arrival at the same time.
- If you are approved, your membership becomes active and the card is mailed to the address on file.
Some airports offer EoA at set hours or only in certain terminals. Check the CBP page for the airport before you fly, and allow extra time after landing; a connecting flight on a tight schedule is not the day to try it.
Scheduled interview or Enrollment on Arrival?
If you have an international trip coming up before any interview slot is available near you, Enrollment on Arrival is usually the fastest route. If you do not travel abroad soon, a scheduled interview is the way, and an earlier slot often opens as a cancellation. Our soonest-slots list shows the nearest open interview at every center, and the app alerts you the moment one appears before your date.
You can keep a scheduled appointment as a fallback and still use Enrollment on Arrival if the chance comes first. Once you are approved, cancel the appointment on the official site so someone else can have it.
